| 2009 Photo of the Year – Angela Morosanu Posted: 31 Dec 2009 12:02 AM PST  My favourite pictures of 2009 came from the IAAF Super Grand Prix Athletissima meeting on July 7, 2009 at the Olympic stadium in Lausanne. No, it wasn't the photo of Usain Bolt in the pouring rain. In the picture below, Angela Morosanu, whose sponsor is Adidas, falls during the women’s hurdles 400 meters. This photo was not altered by Photoshop. (Photo courtesy of http://gettyimages.com/) From the telephoto lens angle, it appears she was trounced by the (big, bad?) NIKE swoosh.. Sort of like the attack of the Killer Tomatoes.
The 400 meter hurdles can be such a cruel event. This picture (left) shows her stumbling after hitting the nth hurdle. | Special 50th Anniversary – The 400 Blows Posted: 30 Dec 2009 12:22 PM PST 
This movie has nothing to do with Track & Field or the 400 meters, but I like the title of the movie. Being I love the English Title for the French Film Les Quatre Cents Coups (1959) or The 400 Blows This is the special 50th anniversary of that film. If you haven't seen it, check your local library, Blockbuster or Netflix.
