I've made it about halfway down my shopping list, which sounds like progress. The trouble is, I'm stalled at my brother-in-law. He only likes things that click and beep and use electricity, which puts me in a budgetary bind. My challenge: Find him a gadgety gift he'll actually like, without blowing the rest of my Christmas money.

For example, an iPod is a bit pricey for the old Christmas list this year, but there are tons of accessories that he would enjoy getting and probably wouldn't think to buy for himself. That's the definition of a good gift, in my opinion.

Just in case there are tumbleweeds blowing through my bank account the next time I check it, I'm going to look for some slightly cheaper options. The good news? Video games always fit.
