From Jen Hubley, your About Today Editor
Last year, approximately 117% of my friends got laid off. For those of you who are good at math, I did not make a mistake. Some people got laid off TWICE. It was that kind of year. (And OK, maybe I exaggerated a little bit.)

How to Survive a Layoff
I got laid off during the First Battle of the Dotcom in 2000, and immediately suffered crushing low self-esteem and started recasting everything that happened to me at my old office in a positive glow. How to Cope When Coworkers Lose Their Jobs
OK, it's not worse than getting laid off, but being left behind when your colleagues get the boot is also tough on the old psyche - not to mention the to-do list. Here's how to cope.
