From Jen Hubley, your About Today Editor
I just made my weekend plans, and if all goes well, I should spend a total of about twenty bucks. That's because summer is the most wonderful season for fun seekers on a budget.

5 Ways to Cut Costs This Summer
First things first, though: Cut down on those less-fun bills. Saving money on cooling your house and cooking your dinner will give you more cash for fun later on.

9 Free Beach Activities
The beach is one of my favorite places on earth, and - once you're there - one of the cheapest.

Free Summer Movie Festivals
When it gets too hot to play outdoors, hide at the movies. Ordinarily, I refer to this as "free air conditioning at $5 per hour," but if you can score tickets for free, you can enjoy the cool air as a bonus.

Free Summer Fun for Kids
My favorite on this list? "Play in the sprinkler." We've had a few days lately when I've been tempted to start dancing around in the sprinkler myself. If only I could count on the neighbors not to worry.
