From Jen Hubley, your About Today Editor
My sister's first-born child is a Yorkie-Poo named Luke. She's fond of saying that she can't imagine her life without out him ... so she's glad no one told how much work he'd be, because she never would have gotten him.

Are You Ready for a New Dog?
Dogs are a lot of work. They can't drive, they don't have jobs, and they almost always refuse to do their share around the house. So you need to be sure you're ready before you add a dog to your pack.

How to Choose the Right Dog for You
It's also a good idea to do some thinking about what kind of do will fit in with your family. For example, a friend of mine once moved a German Shepherd into her studio apartment. No one was happy with that arrangement.

What Kind of Dog Should You Get? Dog Breeds A - Z
Fortunately, there are plenty of dogs to choose from. (I'm waiting for that dog that does the washing up.)

Should You Get a Cat Instead?
On the other hand, if you're waiting for breeders to come up with a dog that can use a litter box and won't be so needy all the time, then maybe you just want a cat.
