Soft Tissue Therapy – Notes from Underground

Posted: 23 Jun 2010 09:00 AM PDT

One of these days, I'll have to interview my USA based soft tissue specialist Joe Horrigan or Canadian-now-UK specialist Gerry Ramogida and talk about what it's like to be a therapist at the Olympic or World level.  I am sure they will have very interesting stories to tell.

Until then, Australia's Brad Hiskins (in conjunction with www.SoftTissueTherapy.com.au) gives a nice 4 part series about life as a soft tissue specialist.  The first two parts are rather dry with stuff like getting certified and accreditation, but the real stories begin on Part 3.  (You can watch all 4 parts on YouTube)

In the highly edited videos, he talks about the highs and lows of his career attending 4 Olympics (1996-2008) as part of the National Team.

Since he covers all sports, he was asked which athletes were the TOUGHEST athletes.  Surprisingly, it wasn't 100 meter sprinters nor Quarter-milers.  The answer may surprise you.

If you are looking for recovery and regeneration techniques, sorry, this video isn't for you.  But if you are an aspiring therapist, then these are must-watch videos.

It also gives you better respect to your support staff at your next track meet!
