Maurice Wilson's resume is impressive:

  • Jamaican National Track & Field Team Assistant Coach (Sprints) at the 2008 and 2004 Olympic Games and in four World Championships;
  • Head Coach to the 2002 and 2001 Jamaican World Junior Teams;
  • Head Girls Track Coach at Holmwood Technical High School in Manchester (JA) where his squads have taken seven consecutive girls National Championships

Several topics are covered in this DVD:


  1. a mixture of start drills to improve quickness out of the blocks
  2. 3 starting block styles and which one is best for you
  3. a rundown from the time they blow the whistle and call you to the blocks, to the starting gun
  4. strength training routine that features endurance drills, acceleration drills, maximum velocity drills
  5. a six-exercise sequence of contrast training
  6. the annual plan and where all the pieces fit, including frequency, duration and volume
  7. detailed analysis of race footage from two two National high school 100 meter races.
