When I was little, we celebrated Mother's Day by pouring cereal in a bowl, putting that bowl on a tray, and bringing it up to Mom at approximately 6 o'clock in the morning.
I was about fifteen before I realized that no one over the age of five wants to get up at 6 AM. And that's only because five-year-olds want to watch cartoons.
The big ol' bowl of cereal did have one advantage: There was almost no way I could burn myself on it. If you decide to get fancier, you'll need to keep an eye on your tiny cooks.
Or you can skip anything that involves the stove and knives altogether. Most of these treats have steps that kids can do without your help, and without risking their little fingers.
