| | Right now designers are showing their spring 2011 collections in New York, aptly named New York Fashion Week. It's a week of celebrity sightings, fashionistas, models, designers and general mayhem considering all of these types are together under one roof. Here are some highlights from some of my favorite men's collections. | | Highlights from the Lacoste Spring 2011 Collection I love Lacoste for its easy to wear relaxed leisurewear. But this is leisurewear that has style. For spring 2011, greys, whites and bold colors make the simple silhouettes look fresh. Classic polos are seen throughout as one might expect. Lacoste Creative Director Christophe Lemaire billed this collection as "Modern Minimal Classics." | Simon Spurr Spring 2011 Collection Highlights Simon Spurr Spring 2011 is about refinement. Here is a designer that went all out with exquisitely made clothes, sumptuous leathers and beautiful fabrics and finishes. For spring 2011 many collections feature slouchy looks, but Simon Spurr bucked that trend by churning out perfectly tailored suits and blazers, trim pants and classic shirts among other items. Beiges, whites, oranges and berry colors provide the perfect seasonal color palette. This is a collection that is stunning in its entirety. | Duckie Brown Spring 2011 Collection Highlights The Duckie Brown Spring/Summer 2011 collection is extraordinary. In the runway show, over-sized tailored jackets and sheer tanks were layered over ankle-cuffed trousers. Extra long shirts were paired with tight pants bunched up on the calf. Animal prints were paired with clashing plaids. The color palette included nudes, tans and greys with splashes of bright color. This collection appeals to a more fashion forward guy. | Highlights from the Perry Ellis Spring 2011 Collection The pieces in the Perry Ellis spring 2011 line-up are casual, comfortable and sporty. These are clothes that are accessible according to creative director John Crocco. The color palette uses fresh coral and melon hues, spring green and rose with neutral tones to ground the collection. The linen suiting, lightweight tees and sweaters certainly make one want to take a beachy vacation.
