2010 NFL Scouting Combine – Who will Run the Fastest 40? Posted: 06 Jan 2010 06:00 AM PST Take a look at the last year’s YouTube video and listen to the expert analysts. Listen to their opinion on when a runner reaches top end speed, and when they decelerate. But they all agree on one thing: the first 10 yards. Also, note how the 40 yard dash stopwatch is started MANUALLY, but the finish is ELECTRONIC. That’s why scouts are sitting in the stands with their own stopwatches. Like the X-Files TV show, “Trust no one” Recently, Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson wanted to challenge Usain Bolt to a 40 yard dash to settle the score “who is the fastest man?” At the 2008 NFL scouting combine, Johnson was timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.24 seconds which was the fastest time clocked at the combine that year. In 2009, the top guys were Johnny Knox (4.25) and Deon Butler (4.26). This YouTube video highlights some the fastest 40 yard dash football players in 2009. Copyright © 2009 by Speedendurance.com.
