The earthquake in Haiti is being called the biggest disaster since the Indonesian tsunami. As many as 50,000 people may have died, and the country will need every penny of the $100 million it will receive in relief funds.

What Happened in Haiti
Bridget explains the scope of the disaster: "Here's a frame of reference to keep in mind: A magnitude 6.5 earthquake strikes off the coast of Northern California on Saturday, causing $21.9 million in damage to the city of Eureka but -- thanks to high building standards and retrofitting -- no deaths or major injuries." The earthquake in Haiti was much higher in magnitude -- and Haiti doesn't have the infrastructure to cope with the disaster.
