Reiti 100 meters – The Best Race of the Year? Posted: 13 Oct 2010 09:00 AM PDT Lerone Clark of Jamaica, the runner up the the 100 yard race in Ostrava, won the 100 meters at the Commonwealth Games in 10.12. YouTube video here. So now with the Commonwealth Games behind us, we can now reflect on the 2010 season. People talk about how great the Rieti track is for 800 meters, but also for the 100 meters. Just ask Asafa Powell. I'm looking back at 2009 WC in Berlin, as both races (2009 WC and the 2010 Rieti meeting) had a wind of +0.9 m/s Two races, two same wind conditions, two superior tracks for sprinting. Let's compare the two… 5 sub 10 sec performances, with the 7th place finisher in 10.00 flat! Imagine running 10 flat and coming in 7th! Ouch! So do you think the Rieti 100 meter race was the best 100m race of the 2010 year? All I can say is Jamaica sure has a stacked 4×100m relay squad with Bolt, Powell, Carter, Frater, Forsythe and now Clark!
