At one point in my life, I ate three things: spaghetti, hot dogs, and peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches. That point was 25 years ago now, but I still appreciate a good PB&J. That's a good thing, because making yourself a PB&J is a small way to change the world for the better.

How PB&J Can Change the World
Don't believe me? There's a whole group dedicated to convincing you. They're called the PB&J Campaign, and their slogan is awesome: "You don't have to change your whole diet to change the world. Just start with lunch."

The point is that eating plant-based foods is less taxing on the planet. Peanut butter sammiches are easier on mother earth than hamburgers.

Another thing you can do, diet-wise, for the environment: Eat food that's grown near you. Every time you do, you're saving on gas and other transportation costs.
