From Jen Hubley, your About Today Editor
Sunday night, the House passed the Senate Health Care Reform Bill, which clears the way for mandatory health care coverage for all US citizens. However you feel about that (and everyone's got an opinion) your first priority this morning is probably to figure out what's changing right away.

House Passes Health Care Reform: The First Changes
Mandatory coverage doesn't hit until 2014. These changes, however, happen much sooner. This is my personal favorite: "Beginning 6 months after final enactment, the bill bans insurance companies from denying coverage for children with pre-existing medical conditions."

The Century in Universal Health Care
Universal Health Care didn't start with this administration. Teddy Roosevelt ran for his third term on a platform including health care for all Americans, and FDR "promised reformers that national health insurance would someday be enacted." (Nearly 80 years ago!)

A Conservative Perspective on the Health Care Reform Bill
US Conservatives Guide Justin Quinn outlines several objections to the bill, including vague language in an amendment preventing federal funds for being used for abortions.

Top 10 Health Care Reform Jokes
Whether you're for this bill or against it, one thing's for sure: You're probably exhausted this morning and in need of comic relief.
