Even though I grew up within spitting distance of Plymouth Rock, I persist in thinking of Thanksgiving primarily as an eating holiday. This is because I love pie, and am lazy. It's also because somewhere along the way, I forgot everything I learned in second grade, when we studied the Pilgrims.
