From Jen Hubley, your About Today Editor
This weekend, I went to a BBQ with my friend, Kate the Farmer. She stayed for about 30 minutes. "It's sunny out!" she explained. "There are no parties when it's sunny out! Only gardening!" I should add that she didn't look at disappointed about that, which is why she's Kate the Farmer.

How to Start a Garden
Also, selfishly, I'm glad she feels that way, because it means I sometimes get free produce. Eating freshly picked veggies makes me wonder how I manage to pretend that the stuff I buy from the supermarket is food.

How to Start an Organic Garden
Next up for Kate: Organic gardening. She already does as much non-chemical stuff as possible. For example, I once saw her de-beetle her roses by knocking the beetles into a cup of water.

How to Start an Herb Garden
Herb gardens are my favorite, because they're useful, decorative, and smell nice. There are very, very few things in this life that fit all those criteria.

How to Start a Container Vegetable Garden
I don't have much in the way of space, so if I'm going to garden at all, it has to be in containers. Which is OK, because you can make a container garden in almost anything. Let that be a warning to anyone who takes their shoes off at my house.
