When I was a kid, making Valentine's Day cards was a huge deal. You had to have several different colors of construction paper, and at least one shape of doily, and there had to be stickers involved. This was Valentine's Day card code, and woe betide any kid who didn't observe it.

Now, however, my friends and family are lucky if they get an email from me. This is because I'm lazy, and busy. Also busy being lazy, which I think we can agree is the most fun.

Lately, though, I've been thinking about how nice it was to give people handmade cards. There was something about all those lumps of paste that really said, "I love you."

Which brings me to the sentiment I would put on a Valentine's Day card, if I were to make one: "This lump of paste says, 'I LOVE YOU.'" I think it's better if you can put little googly eyes on the paste.

On the other hand, some of these printables are pretty cute, even without paste monsters.
